The René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking returns in 2026 to the Wittockiana to celebrate contemporary creation and highlight artists whose prints explore techniques, forms, materials, and the boundaries of perception. True to its mission of showcasing emerging talent, the Prize recognizes a new generation of creators every two years—artists whose works reflect bold aesthetic freedom and a strong commitment to the current challenges of the art world.
The René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking is open to printmakers and printmaking students of all nationalities and ages, practicing traditional printmaking techniques such as intaglio, lithography, linocut, woodcut, screen printing, or monotype.
For the 2026 edition, three awards will be presented by an international jury consisting of Françoise Pétrovitch, Kikie Crêvecoeur, Roger Vaneck, Marika Takino, and Kiran Katara:
- Grand Prix international de gravure René Carcan (René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking)
- Première mention – Prix Roger Dewint (First Mention – Roger Dewint Prize)
- Seconde mention (Second Mention)
The Public Prize is awarded by online voters to the artist who receives the most votes.
Designed as a space for discovery and appreciation, the exhibition invites the public—enthusiasts, curious minds, students, and professionals—to celebrate the vitality of a demanding art form that continues to inspire today’s generations.
