Récits d’ailleurs

Capsule exhibition

08.06.2025 – 28.09.2025

This exhibition invites you on a journey where the imaginary and discovery take form through the art of bookbinding.

Those unique books, originated from the precious reserve among others, reveal bookbindings from the 19th century of dreamlike decors, witness of a refined taste for exotism and evasion proper from their time.

These works are the crossroads of the art and the literature, translating in leather, in gilding and patterns the aspirations of elsewhere.

In regards to the witness of the past, the contemporary bookbindings question the actual representation of elsewhere.

Through a formal research and innovative materials, they renew our manner to consider the book, no more like a simple object, but space of reflection, of creation and of inner journey.
