Visitor services and communications manager
(H/F/X) (1 ETP)

 

The Wittockiana, named after its founder, the collector and bibliophile Michel Wittock, is a museum dedicated to the arts of books and bookbinding, located in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. The collection consists of unique bound books, artists’ books, book objects and archives.

The museum aims to promote the collection, to be open to contemporary creation in the field of book arts, to organise exhibitions and events for a diverse public, and to offer a privileged setting for anyone wishing to undertake an educational experience.

 

YOUR MISSION

As Head of Visitor Services and Communications, you will be the Wittockiana’s first point of contact with the public. You will be responsible for ticketing, the shop and all forms of communication (in situ, telephone and email, website, mailings, social networks, etc.). In general, you will contribute to the smooth running of the museum, in collaboration with the team.

 

YOUR PROFILE

– You will have

o a sense of welcome and service, as well as good communication skills;

o an excellent command of both spoken and written French OR Dutch, and a good knowledge of French OR Dutch (depending on your first language) and English;

o experience in cash desk/ticketing/shop management;

o very good command of the Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and familiarity with Photoshop and In Design;

o expertise in communication and planning tools;

o a bachelor’s degree (public relations, communications, etc.) or equivalent experience;

o ACS – Actiris status.

o A good knowledge of the cultural and artistic world in general, and the museum network in particular.

 

YOUR MAIN TASKS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS

  • selling tickets and shop items, and managing the cash desk;
  • passing on information about exhibitions, events, prices, the shop, the history of the museum, etc.
  • planning and implementing communication and information dissemination initiatives (newsletters, website, social networks, etc.);
  • managing the shared mailbox
  • managing contacts and statistics;
  • taking part in team meetings and drafting minutes.

 

TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE YOUR MISSION

  • We are offering you a permanent contract (1 FTE) under an ACS contract with ACTIRIS.
  • You will also be able to count on the support of a small but very dynamic team.
  • You will enjoy a stimulating and respectful working environment.
